AVIANCE GHANA LIMITED PARTICIPATED IN GHANA AIRPORT COMPANY LIMITED SAFETY WEEK

The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) in partnership with Emirates Airlines and stakeholders celebrated a week long Safety Awareness from the 12th to 15th November, 2019. The event was aimed at creating Safety, Health and Environment awareness in the industry. As part of the activities a safety quiz was organised for grand prizes such as Emirates Flight Tickets, trophies and many more.

Aviance quiz contestants namely; Barimah Tenkorang Asante (Airside Ops), Rich Worchie (Airside Ops), Kobina Takyi (HR) and Abraham Afotey (QHS) were adequately prepared by the QHS Team of Helen O. Agymang Badu, Ben D. Johnson and Sampson Asiamah to qualify for the final stage of the competition in order to make Team Aviance proud.





Rich Worchie was adjudged the 2nd runner up and was awarded with an Economy Class ticket ACC-DXB-ACC sponsored by Emirates to Dubai.


A subsequent Foreign Objects Debris (FOD) walk was participated by Aviance Management comprising Mark Kamis (MD), Adrian Tweeddale (GMO) as well as staff to pick up objects and debris made up of pieces of metal, wood, polythene & plastics, bolts and nuts from the air side.




The exercise was to create awareness on FOD dangers on aircraft's safety within the industry at Kotoka International Airport which can cause financial/human/property loss in terms of millions of dollars every year.

In another development the Regional Manager for West Africa Emirates airlines donated 10 dustbins on behalf of Emirates to GACL to augment safety in its operations.
